FAQ's - At what age can my child or I begin riding at Bay Blue Farm?Our horsemanship program is for riders over the age of 5 years. We welcome adult riders returning to the saddle or fulfilling a lifelong dream of learning to ride. - What level of riders do you teach? Our Year Round Horsemanship program is for beginner through advanced riders. - Do I have to own a horse in order to take lessons? No. Bay Blue Farm has excellent quality lesson horses and ponies trained for teaching. If you do own a horse, you may ride it in your lesson. - What do I wear for my riding lesson? ASTM/SEI approved riding helmets are required for ALL students. Long pants and boots with ½" heel are also required. Chaps are optional. - Where do I get an ASTM/SEI approved helmet? Olsen's Grain in Clarkdale 649-3900 or you can find them online at most tack stores. - What is ARIA? Established in 1984, The American Riding Instructor Association is a program to recognize and certify outstanding teachers of horseback riding who instruct their students in a safe, knowledgeable and professional manner.

| Lessons are one hour in length and begin promptly at the scheduled time. Please arrive a few minutes early(10 minutes) and be prepared to stay at least 15 minutes after your lesson to put your horse and tack away. Private Lessons are a one on one session with the instructor. Group Lessons consist of 2 or more students of a similar level. ![]() | |||
Rates All lessons are to be paid in advance Private Lessons - $55.00 per hour Group Lessons - $35.00 per hour (Group lessons are run in 6 weeks blocks or "sessions", for a total of $210.00 per session) 5 year olds - $35.00 - 45 minute private lesson Scheduling Lessons are taught Tuesday through Saturday morning. Summer: Early mornings and early evenings Fall/Winter: After school or work Please call for availability. Attire 1. ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet ( Available at Olsen's Grain in Clarkdale or at most online tack stores ) 2. Long pants, breeches or jodphurs 3. Boots with a 1/2'" heel 4.
